Metabolism is simply, how your body uses food to keep your body functioning. Genetics play a role in determining your starting point, but with lifestyle changes your metabolism can also be affected. Having a steady metabolism will use calories effectively in order to maintain a healthy weight, promote circulation and breathing, and repair and grow cells in the body.
